NAP / GNT

I was wondering if anyone might want to take up this cause.  It's a very minor cause of course, and doesn't really impact anyone.  But anyways.  The Open NAP pays out only 60 points for winning and the Open GNT pays out only 100 points for winning.  Personally, I feel like it should be more.  The NAP is a 4 session event, and a 4 session Open Pairs should pay out 130 points.  The Wehner, 4 session LM pairs and Silidor pay that.  And we all know that the Wehner is a bad joke.

Of course the NAP isn't really an open event; in a sense its an invitational event.  On the other hand, it could also be considered a longer event, with the club, unit and district stages being qualifiers.  But even in the worst case, the reduction for an invitational event is 80%, which, in this case, would result in a reduction to 100 points (equivalent to the Fast, IMP and Mixed pairs).  So that number would work too.

The Open GNT is a 5 day event.  And pays out 100 points.  That's a little sad.  The 3 day open Swiss pays out 190 points, for comparison.  I don't really have a good idea of what this should be bumped up to.  250 is far too high, even 200 seems high (although if one considers the GNT an open national event, which it is, then 200 isn't high at all).  150 is a non-existent number in terms of payouts for a national event, although we could use it.  But 100 just seems low for a 5 day event.
