OOC: Dana's Family Headcanon
Since I'm not taking Hush Beyond or the ongoing as cartoon canon, I'm not using what they have on Dana's mother and brother.
Dana's family in Gotham consists of her and her father. She's an only child, her parents are divorced, and her mother lives in a different city. She can't remember her mother ever acting like a mother to her, and she hasn't actually seen her in years. Most of the time, she's okay with the situation, but...
Sometimes she compares her parents to Terry's. When they got divorced, they stayed friends, and are always there for their children. Every so often, she wished that they were her parents, or at least, Mary was her mother.
In short, Dana has some latent mommy issues. In Nautilus, enter Doctor Holiday. When she came over to cure Dana of the bouquet of doom, it really touched her, because she was acting like a mother and not a doctor.
