Male Doggie Perhaps

Some I'm cleaning up my house right now to puppy proof it and while I do so I've been thinking about what kind of dog to get. While it's true that female dogs are said to be easier to potty train apparently male dogs are supposed to be more protective and while I don't need much protection (I wouldn't need any if Sharon would finally get fixed) Sharon is both small and timid so it might be nice to have a dog that would protect her while I'm not around.

Anyway so if you have male dog name ideas I could use those as well.
