What I've been listening to for the past week...
...and believe it or not, it's NOT Pat Benatar!
My CD player in my car has been playing the Adam Lambert disc ever since it came out.
Until last year, I never really got sucked into the AI hype, even when Elliot Yamin was on (and I was still living in Richmond)...but then last year, I caught a glimpse of Adam. And then heard the voice...his showmanship, his vocal ability, his sense of flamboyant style - it got me DVR'ing AI, and even Mark got interested! (his fave band is Queen) And at the AI final, when Adam sang with Queen - all I can say is WOW.
I listen to current stuff to DJ with, but hardly ever do a buy an album the day it comes out - but I was eagerly waiting for Adam's to drop. When the cover pic was released, I immediately "got" the joke/homage to 80's pop...and wanted it even more!
Only one song is a disappointment to me, "Aftermath." Blah. Boring.
I'm annoyed at ABC by the continual snubbing of Adam since the AMA's - but oh well - the extra PR can't hurt!
As the first song on the CD says, "you make me wanna listen to music again..."
And just WHEN will the tour happen? I'll be sure to be there!
