So I've got this beautiful GSG5
It's an MP5 chambered in .22LR (waaaay cheaper than 9mm, 40 or 45. Like $19 for 550 rounds)
It has: claw mount fir attaching sights and optics
Solid A5 stock
Three position collapsible A4 stock
Four 22rnd magazines
Fake supressor
Original box, paperwork, user guide, breakdown manual, multi tool, various replacement front sights
The gun alone was $550 when I bought it a year ago.
These are NO LONGER BEING MADE OR SOLD IN THE USA!
Current retail value of this weapon has come down about $100 for the standard version.
I have the anniversary edition.
The A5 stock is worth: $63
Three extra magazines: $99
Claw mount: $18
So all together the weapon and accessories I have with it cost: $730
Adjusting for current retail price and the minor use it saw ( the weapon is in 99% condition, I take VERY good care of my guns)
It's worth $630
I'm looking to sell it for an even $600.00 USD
There are a few reasons why I'm looking to sell this.
As much as I love this gun and as much as I really really REALLY don't want to get rid of it.... I need the money right now as I am currently unable to attend our Canadian tour due to Gregg leaving the band (he was our drive and owned the bus we used) which put us in the crappy position of having to cut the live show very short for the Canadian tour.
The other reason is..... I just don't like how long it takes me to take the thing apart and clean it after each time I shoot it.
There is nothing wrong in this respect..... I just underestimated my patience in owning an MP5.
they are beautiful weapons and this thing shoots flawlessly. I'm able to get a 3" growing at 30 feet rapid fire.... If I took my time and shot a qualification round with this, I am 100% confident I could shoot a one inch group at 30 feet without even trying. This is probably the most accurate weapon I've fired next to the Colt M4
I clean all my guns after I fire them. Each trip to the range ends with me breaking down all my weapons, cleaning them thoroughly and oiling them up and putting em back together.
The MP5 requires three tools (which it comes with) in order to teak it apart to clean it. And it takes about two hours for me to take it down, clean it thoroughly as well as clean the magazines and oil it up, put it back together.
I'm sure it can be done faster and cleaned more efficiently if someone were to use a spray cleaner like rusty duck or any of the other polymer friendly spray cleaners out there.
I, however, use the old fashioned method of Hopps and cleaning patches....
So it takes me a long time.
Longer than I like to take.
So I usually end up leaving it at home when I go to the range as I can clean my magnum, both my waltzers and the Jennings in 1/4 the time it takes me to clean the MP5
It pains me greatly to sell this fine piece of German engineering.... And knowing that I will most likely NEVER be able to buy one again as they are no longer being sold in the USA due to the lawsuit against them by original creators of the MP5, H&K
There are still parts, magazines and accessories available for this weapon, don't you worry.... However, ATI can no longer import and sell this weapon. So you can't buy the whole gun anymore, but you can still get the parts to it.
So if anyone out there is interested, let me know. I can provide pictures, information, video....whatever you want to know or see
I'm going to my friends gun shop to see what he will offer me...if he offers me more than what I'm listing here.... Then I will let it be known of the price he is offering me if anyone out there REALLLY wants it.
Thanks, good luck, and stay safe!
