“Roxas, I know that you don’t want anything to do with this, but I really need a favor.” Axel followed Roxas around the apartment like a wide-eyed puppy. He was begging - he needed Roxas to do this for him.
Roxas didn’t even look back at Axel. “No. I’m not going to do it. I told you that I wasn’t going to help you do… whatever it is you want me to do. Forget it.”
“C’mon, Roxas… I’ll never ask you for anything again. Anything at all.”
“Not even sex?”
Axel stopped cold. “Okay, let’s not get crazy here…”
Still ignoring Axel, Roxas walked into his room and sat at his desk, pulling out his calculus homework. Axel was just going to have to deal with the fact that he had no intention of doing anything related to his… business. Granted, Axel hadn’t ever asked him for anything before…
“Pleaaaaaase? I’ll never ask you for anything again. Except sex.” Axel rubbed on Roxas’ shoulders, knowing that he couldn’t resist a nice shoulder massage. He was a stressed high school student, after all.
“What is it?” Roxas put his pencil down and looked back at Axel. “I might do it if it’s nothing too bad.”
Delight lit up Axel’s face.
“Naw, nothing too bad. I just need you to make a delivery.”
“And what would I be delivering?”
“Don’t ask, baby. That way if you get caught, you won’t have to lie to the authorities.”
“That won’t be a problem, right? Because you’re going to make sure I don’t have any reason to be caught.” Roxas tilted his head back and grinned fiercely up at his boyfriend. He didn’t have the “I’m only smiling ‘cause I’m imagining you as a pile of ashes” grin that Axel did or the “you’re about two seconds from being stuck in my teeth” grin that Braig did, but he could still grin pretty fiercely.
Axel gave him his most charming smile. “Of course.”
Roxas studied him hard for a few moments and then turned back to his books.
“Forget it.”
“Aww c’mon!”
“No way. Not if you won’t even tell me what it is,” Roxas said firmly. “It’s probably… I don’t know… Uranium or something.” He glanced back at Axel, waiting for him to deny it. But Axel just ran a hand through his hair.
“Ummm…”
“Axel!” Roxas actually turned around in his chair and stared at him. “You didn’t seriously steal Uranium, did you?!”
“Of course not! It’s just high-powered firearms!”
“Oh is that all?” Roxas glared up at him. “And how were you planning on having me deliver those? Paint stripes on ‘em, put me in an elf outfit and have me pretend I’m delivering candy canes for Santa?”
“…Would you actually do that?”
“No.”
“Pity. It would have been cute.” Axel smirked at Roxas’ frown. “But a disguise isn’t a bad idea….”
~
“This is the stupidest fucking idea ever.”
Unlike Axel and Braig, Roxas almost never cursed. But every once in a while, the occasion called for it. This was one of those times.
Roxas, clad in his full schoolboy uniform, was holding several cases that were packed with enough high -powered firearms to take out the city’s SWAT team. Axel was bouncing around, practically salivating. Roxas was surprised he hadn’t pulled out a camera and arranged a private photoshoot or asked Roxas to erotically lick a barrel of one of the shotguns.
“You are so full of shit. I cannot believe you talked me into this.”
“You look so adorable. I just want to eat you.” Axel pressed his nose into Roxas hair.
“Get off or I’ll break your nose.” Roxas growled. He grabbed one of the cases and started hauling it out the door. “Let’s get this over with. Where are we delivering these things?”
“To an empty lot on Bastion Street. C’mon, I’ll drive you.”
The drive was uneventful, but Roxas was still hopping with nerves. He drummed his fingers on the armrest and kept glancing back anxiously, staring at the cases of guns. He fully expected the police to appear behind them at any second, lights and sirens blazing.
“Would you relax? Everything’s under control.” Axel glanced over at him. Good God, how was it possible that Roxas was that sexy?
“Just drive.” Roxas continued to fidget in his seat.
It was dark when they pulled the car into the empty lot. Axel turned to Roxas, suddenly serious.
“Okay, this should go off without a hitch, so there shouldn’t be any reason to worry. But just in case, I’ll be out of sight with a rifle, okay? I’ll shoot to kill anything that tries to get you. It’ll be all right.”
Roxas nodded. He trusted Axel, but this was life-or-death type stuff.
“Who am I delivering this stuff to?”
“Some crony of Ienzo’s. Like I said, it shouldn’t be a problem.”
Axel helped Roxas unload the crates and place them in the middle of the lot before he kissed Roxas on the cheek and left. Roxas knew that he wasn’t far, but the idea of being “alone” there made him extremely nervous. He sat on one of the crates and waited, feeling self-conscious and more idiotic than ever in his school uniform.
It was another ten minutes before another car pulled into the lot. Roxas squinted against the bright headlights and tried to make out who was getting out of the car.
