It was with futility that Roxas struggled against the bonds that Riku had placed on him. Riku had ripped the chain from his coat and used it to tie Roxas’ wrists and ankles, effortlessly pinioning him. He couldn’t summon his keyblades this way. Even if he found a way to, he wouldn’t be able to effectively use them.
Riku carried the struggling Nobody to Hollow Bastion. Darkness still lurked in the great crumbling castle, darkness potent enough to sustain him. His breath came heavily from between clenched teeth as he walked through the broad, haunted corridors. One hand was outstretched, the gloved fingers skimming the wall. The other steadied Roxas, who was draped over his shoulder. He felt as though he were quivering beneath his own skin. The air was practically vibrating all around him, infused with his excitement. Nothing was going to stop him now.
“Don’t worry. I’m gonna take care of you. Even if you are an ungrateful little jerk.” Riku smiled so wide that the blood dripping out from under his blindfold trickled into the corners of his mouth. “Honestly Sora, why do I always have to get you out of everything?”
His fingers finally met open air and he turned left, into the open archway. It was difficult, not being able to see, but he had found little ways to cope. He was still mad at Sora for blinding him, of course, but he had only done it because they brainwashed him. And Riku couldn’t blame anyone for that, after all. Not after what he had done under the dark’s influence. But now he was back. He was himself again. And he was going to get Sora back too, no matter what it took.
“I’m not Sora!” Roxas tried to twist out of Riku’s grip. “You’re out of your fucking mind!”
Riku stopped suddenly. That’s right. It wasn’t Sora. Well, not yet. He shook his head once or twice and then dropped Roxas on the floor. He crouched on top of Roxas and grinned down at him. He could feel blood drip from his jaw and presumably land on Roxas below.
“You’ll be Sora soon enough.” Riku grinned.
He tugged the gloves off with his teeth and tossed them aside. Bare hands were better for this. Ignoring Roxas’ struggling, Riku ran his hands over the face, his sense of touch replacing his blinded eyes. So familiar, despite the subtle differences. Roxas’ face was leaner, his skin softer. He didn’t have that scar above his left ear. His lips weren’t quite as full as Sora’s. Riku felt for the zipper of the coat and unzipped it down to Roxas’ hips, running careful hands over the shoulders and collarbone and torso as well.
“Get the hell off me! I’m not Sora, you bastard!” Roxas continued to yell at him, still trying to wriggle away. The combination of the bonds and Riku’s superior weight had him at a disadvantage.
“You’re not… But you feel like him.” Riku’s hands returned to the strange, familiar face. “I bet you even taste like him.”
He leaned down and licked Roxas’ forehead, letting the blood drip from his eyes into the soft hair. The hair was soon soaked through, turning almost brown as the blood dried. Riku ran his hands through it, spiking it here and there until it stood up like Sora’s had. The blood would make it dry that way.
“Stop that! What the hell are you trying to do?” Roxas yelled through the whole ordeal, so much that Riku almost lost his focus.
“It’s hard to pretend you’re Sora when you keep yelling in that voice…” Riku pulled a knife out of his pocket and forced Roxas’ mouth open. Roxas tried to jerk his head away. When that failed, he tried to bite Riku’s fingers, but Riku didn’t pay him any mind. He forced the knife into Roxas’ mouth and carved a deep groove into Roxas’ tongue.
“Try to use his voice now.” Riku smiled, leaning down to lick away some of the blood that was trickling from Roxas' mouth. Roxas continued to writhe helplessly, almost choking on the blood that was spilling down his throat.
“Don’t worry, Sora.” Riku pulled off the blindfold and gazed blindly down at Roxas with empty sockets. He was smiling a strange smile - benevolent and cocky all at once. “I know I’m blind, but I’ll look out for you. ‘cause I know you can’t look out for yourself. Nothing will come between us from now on.”
