I am a member of thethequakerparrotsplace@yahoogroups.com and I just got this post in my email
We need your help.
United Illuminating Company, the power company in the state of Connecticut,
has begun a program to euthanize wild Quakers in their area. They go out at
night when the Quakers are sleeping in their nests and throw plastic over
the nests and pump carbon monoxide gas in there.
It's terrible! They don't even have a chance!
Please take some time Friday and call or email the folks listed in the email
below. If they get enough reaction, they'll have to quit. Why, even the
Audubon Society knows about it and has given their approval!
Steve Baldwin, the man who wrote the email below, is the fellow who watches
over the wild Quakers that live in Brooklyn.

Subject: YOU CAN STOP THE KILLING OF CT QUAKERS
I just got off the phone with a CT reporter.
They've killed 47 so far. They'll be back to kill more tomorrow.
Please call these numbers. Please forward this message. It's not too
late to save those remaining. This is a criminal act in process and
must be stopped.
