a/n: OKAY so this story continued in my head. This bit directly follows the last update however, this isn't a multi-chaptered fic. Think of it more like a series - just random ficlets/drabbles or whatever revolving around solo!Junno and KT!Ueda. Something like that ~ Happy reading ♡

Well it’s really no surprise that it doesn’t take long before they meet.
At a park somewhere, Junno is sitting with his long legs crossed and fingers nimbly going through his phone.
It’s not until a gush of sudden wind flips the tail of his jacket that he looks up, and the moment his eyes land on Tatsuya walking towards him, Junno’s smile makes Tatsuya want to cry from nostalgia with the way Junno's thin lips spread in bountiful excitement, and how he suddenly jumps up from the bench and starts walking to meet Tatsuya, all the while waving his hand as if someone as big as him wouldn’t be seen.
“You’ll draw attention, you idiot”, Tatsuya fans him away while pulling the cap down more on his head and the mask over his face - because putting aside being spotted, Tatsuya is a known tsundere for whatever reason, so he won’t let Junno see the soft smile behind the mask.
“Uepi, I finally get to see you”.
Junno is still smiling, brimming with honesty and relief and pure innocence, there’s no doubt that he really wanted to meet Tatsuya.
“Then consider yourself lucky”, Tatsuya replies, not worrying to take a seat but starts to walk towards a small grove of trees.
Junno follows behind, a dance in each of his step, just bouncing his way along while Tatsuya calmly reminisces that it’s on these simple unimportant occasions with just the two of them together - occasions like this, he’d always cherished.
“Are you going where I think you’re going?” Junno asks, still walking like springs are in his toes and on his heels - he’s the total embodiment of happy feet.
Which partly annoys Tatsuya because really, Junno is too - he’s too annoyingly fresh with vigour and sweetly attractive that it pisses the world off.
Tatsuya glances over at him while hiding another smile that’s riding on his lips. “I’d forgotten how noisy you are”.
“I am?” Junno asks as though feeling scandalised, but that doesn’t stop him, “So did you listen?”
“I did”.
“And?”
“And what? It took me nearly three days to finish”.
Junno’s pace obviously slows, “I guess you’re busy”.
“I am. But that’s not it”.
“Then… not your cup of tea?”
When Tatsuya finally stops walking, they’re both standing in front of one of those old fashioned Ferris wheels barely high above the trees but still a decent height. It's sort of private in the small neighbourhood park.
Tatsuya shifts the tip of his cap, looking up and taking in the site. His entire day is being filled with nostalgia. “I had some songs on repeat”.
And just in case Tatsuya thought he’d seen Junno at his happiest, then he’s being proven wrong with the way in which Junno’s grin is so wide that he has to close his eyes to get all that happiness out and before Tatsuya can react, Junno is at him with a hug, rubbing his face in the crook of Tatsuya’s neck, squeezing him tight, “Uepi, you’ll make me fall in love with you”.
“Don’t be overdramatic”, Tatsuya sighs, though he makes no attempt at fanning Junno off. Just like that with Junno clinging to him, they make his way to the ticket gate where he pays for two. “Hurry and get off me”.
Junno eases up a bit, though he's literally still clinging to Tatsuya. “Let’s go for ice-cream after this. My treat”.
Tatsuya’s glare fails to intimidate. “Do you think this is a field trip or something?”
“Of course, not”.
By now, they’re both on the ride, facing each other. Tatsuya had taken off his cap and his mask and he may not have noticed it but he has his head slightly tilting back as though inhaling something fresh and sweet and calming.
“You really have a beautiful profile”, Junno says to him, his mannerism calm and collected - much different from his earlier antics.
“Am I supposed to say thanks?” Tatsuya asks, not looking at him, though he was thumping all over on the inside from the heart out.
“No. I’m just talking out loud”, Junno replies with a soft smile that crinkles at the corner of his lips and pins itself in the crevice of his eyes. “I love this view”.
At this, both his and Tatsuya’s eyes meet - all this time and this is the first time they’re looking squarely at each other - the first time they’re both revealing the real way they feel. Silently.
“Was that also you talking out loud?”
Junno is no longer smiling but his stare still longs for something way beyond the surface. “What do you think?”
Tatsuya knows exactly what’s happening.
From the very start, this whole meeting had been tempting, slapping him with nostalgia or rather, disguising itself as nostalgia - but it’s nostalgia that’s being fueled by a longingness that’s being fuel by a loneliness that’s being fueled by a loss and need for something.
“I think it’s weird how orange today’s sunset is”, he replies, pulling down his cap and putting back on his mask.
Junno knows better than to pursue the answer. Or perhaps, he too, isn’t ready for an answer. “Well, at least it’s not scorching hot”.
“Yeah. It's comfortable”.
The evening sun;
and each other’s warmth.

A/N: ...! SO yeah, let's name and tag this series the 'Melancholy Whispers'. So don't expect a final chapter or regular updates. It's really just a fic dump for this not AU JunDa. I still hope you'll enjoy whatever randomness I scribble down here ><'
