Decided to take the old iPod for a spin, see if it magically started working again. Started off with low expectations, but when I did a restore it seemed to go well. So I got excited. Left it charging for an hour or two and when I went back and clicked "About" on the iPod itself it didn't have everything as 0 or unknown. Then when I plugged it in my computer actually recognized it.

So far so good. Knock on wood. I thought it was a corrupted file and I didn't manage to find out which file that would have been, so I'm just loading as normal now. 44/3989 songs so far! Last time it got to 53 and died. We'll just have to see, but things appear to be in order.

This is going to save me $300 if all goes well. I am excited.

Since writing the above I got to 63/3989! Woohoo! I also have a couple hundred more I might put on there. My laptop has been a bit overwhelmed with shit lately so I don't have as much music right now as I'd like. Now that the iPod's back in check, maybe that'll change...

God I hope this works. I am so dependent on having thousands of songs available to my ears at all times.

ETA: DAMMIT. Back to square one.
