When unoriginal_liz asked for commentary for my Harry Potter fic In His Absence (all thanks to this meme), I wasn't expecting that I my commentary would be longer than the selected passage!! Just like with DVDs, please read the full fic before you read my commentary.

I really like this explanation for why Ron stays at home, that even when it seems like it's not the Trio tackling evil, it really is (aw, Ron!).

The more I think about it, the more I'm convinced that Ron wasn't just buying time for Harry and Hermione, he was actually planing sneaking out to join Hermione as soon as he could. In fact, he might well have been on his way when his father stopped him and, after one of those dramatic heart-to-hearts, gave him his blessing to go. And that's the moment the Death Eater attacked.

I always think it's always so cool to get backstory on fics - it makes me appreciate the story even more.

That's actually why I started lurking on you LJ, you know? Because you were in the process of fic commentary for Unhappily Ever After and I totally got sucked in! :-)
