Notes: Trying to get this in under the wire. I literally wrote this in twenty minutes, which means that the title also refers to my writing. Now if people would only write The Cold anniversary fic, I wouldn't have to resort to such desperate measures! Happy birthday to both flippet, paladin98 and to all Keytus Kids collectively. I wish I could have gotten you all a better gift!
He didn’t actually feel terrible. He hadn’t all day. Okay, so he felt a little sick to his stomach when he realized that he probably could have gotten away with kissing her before now, that she might even have been waiting for him to make a move. But, for a guy had just violated more than a few rules of proper professional conduct and engaged in behavior that could get him slammed with a sexual harassment suit, he didn’t feel terrible at all.
But he feels terrible now. He feels terrible, frustrated and completely sick to his stomach. Maybe it’s for the best. Now’s not exactly the right time to… But if she gets the wrong idea… If she for a second thinks that he doesn’t want her or is too worried about what people think…
His circling thoughts are interrupted by the message alert from his PDA. It’s from her. One sentence: It’s bound to happen sometime.
And the word “terrible” is no longer in his vocabulary.
