TWS: The Delgados, "No Danger"
Click to viewThe Delgados were an indie rock band from Glasgow in the late 90s until 2005, and are best remembered for three things: 1) founding the Chemikal Underground label, 2) "The Light Before We Land," the opening song to the anime Gunslinger Girl (they also contributed "Woke From Dreaming," both of which are off of their 2002 album Hate), and 3) the plethora of YouTube comments saying how they never got the recognition they deserved (which is true in some respects; it's one of the reasons why they broke up). This song, from 2000's The Great Eastern, is my favorite of theirs, and so is the video (though this is an edited version; you can listen to the full version here). I'm not sure what the people involved are doing now; I know Emma Pollock released a solo album on 4AD a couple of years back, but I haven't heard it yet and I don't think she's released anything else in the meantime.

My sister's birthday is today (she's turning 12), and all I know is that we'll be having family over later today. I don't know if we're going to be doing anything really special (except the cake and all that), but things are going to be a little hectic today, and to be honest, right now I'm not exactly looking forward to it. ^_^;;
