The opposite happened to me with Up -- when I watched it the first time, it was amazing, but when I saw it a second time with my family a couple of months later, I definitely didn't enjoy it as much. Different strokes, I guess.

And yeah, I don't think I could join fandoms for specific movies either, for the reasons you mentioned. When I join a new fandom, I prefer it to stick around for a while, not burn out in only a couple of months.

OH GOD YES I really have. 8DDDDDDDDDDDDDDD I'm gonna start watching the second season as soon as I finish typing this. In any case, now all of a sudden I want fic. And icons. And good fanart. And fellow fans. And oh dear god what has gotten into me? O_o;

Yeah, it kind of bothers me how a lot of fans sugarcoat Shinra/Celty :| I still ship it(but I ship Shinra with everyone so...), but goddamn that episode where he was telling her she shouldn't find her head, that he was going to force her to stay with him and then it revealing he'd known where it was all along...yeah, not exactly a sunshine and rainbows relationship. Narita characters tend to be a lot more screwed up than they initially seem, so I was kind of expecting a darker side of him to appear when they introduced him.

Oh man, I forgot about all that. :| Yeah, I completely agree, and that's why I've never really liked Shinra/Celty all that much, even when it did sorta get better as the series went on (for no real reason, apparently). I guess it could be worse, though? And I mean, Shinra having an out-there father certainly didn't help matters much. :/

Yeah, it could definitely be worse, and his father has to have influenced him, obviously. I mean, the man told his four year old son to cut someone open and take a look at their insides :|

Yay for Celty! \o/ I totally agree with you about their relationship. Now I love the two, though I can't help but occasionally indulge in my guilty pleasure of Shizuo/Celty.

I totally prefer Shizuo/Celty myself, and I wish I could see more of them, even if it's just bromance. ^_^;

But I envy you. I've been spoiled, pretty much, so I know at least that Mittermeyer is one of the cool dudes who doesn't die. The ones I do like from the series, I now know, will kick the bucket one way or another. Yang, of course, is a given... and then there's Paul von Oberstein, who I absolutely adore for being that jerk but just that jerk really. I mean, he has no real ambitions for himself, and for all his horrible practices/ideas for dealing with dissenters and whatnot, he really is doing it for a pretty pure goal... you know, for there to be a good ruler in the Empire (one that won't execute infirm/disabled people like him B|).

I also liked that dude with the bakery... I mean, the guy who munches bread all the time. I am just sad he died so soon D:

I know right? XD I'm keeping all my Yang icons, mostly because they do a good job expressing emotions, but as much as I liked him, he was never really a favorite. I think it was his smugness and drunkenness that did it for me
