We had wanted to book our tickets April 1st for fun, but it was better to go on a Saturday due to work scheduals and other mundane factors. We got there on time. Our seats were a little akward to see the stage but not bad. Plus, we had a great view of the musicians in the orchestra pit. When each of us entered the tier from the lobby for that level, we each felt a bit of vertigo. I felt that if I stumbled even a little bit, I would just keep tumbling over the rail and smash on the seats below. The show itself was fun. It was mostly based on "Quest for the Holy Grail, but borrowed motifs, skits and songs from other 'Python classics and was also a bit updated in ways.
I really enjoyed the atmosphere and detail of the theater itself. You know, dark red velvet, guilt releifs, the fresco on the domed ceiling. The ladys room was also lavish in some ways; it had its own sort of lobby with a huge mirror, nice couch and brass coat rack. I suppose I am describing a typical theater atmosphere but this one had a particular older style I think.
We got to South Street just a little early for our reservations so we walked South Street a bit and stopped in a Rock and Mineral store. I bought two little rocks and then it was time to go to
The Fez. I think I might have enjoyed the experience there just a little more the first time. The bread seemed a little wrong and we wanted more of it. Also the orange I peeled at the end was mouldy inside and the baklava was so dissapointing we bought some at a local dinner on the way home. Other than that the food was really good as only Morrocan food can be. We enjoyed burning our fingers with impatience on the delectibles placed before us. We also enjoyed watching the Belly Dancers. I was a bit confused about people putting cash in their costumes though.
