a single subconscious

Some dreams weave meanings beyond reason into one's own mind.  Sometimes it feels like a metaphor that could apply to a lot of things we do and don't communicate.  I'm leaving out the visual context of this dream for personal reasons, but noting the question that it's brought up:

You wake up in an empty infinite dark space. Next to you lies someone you care about who's deep in sleep.  As far as you know, you're the only two remaining beings in the universe or wherever you happen to be.  Before making any other choices or thoughts on the matter you must decide... do you wake this person up to the truth or let them sleep?
An air of end or pinnacle point of no return and slipping hopes of change grows louder with every day of this new year. Maybe its just a yearning to learn something we haven't allowed ourselves to.  To quote an eerie random blog I read today,
"Is it only me or is 2009 driving everybody insane?  I feel as if the whole world is turned upside down and I got thrown into some kind of black hole where the old laws of physics don’t apply anymore and time is no longer linear.  Too many things in me are dying at the same time. I am no longer young."
