Here, Today, have a raise
I complain a lot in my LJ, so it's only fair when I post about good days too.
Will qualify it by saying I've had a bastard headache simmering just under the surface most of the day - a holdover from yesterday/last night; hopefully by tomorrow the fucker will be totally gone - but mostly it stayed under the radar and didn't become An Overriding Issue. Aside from that, though:
Went to Portland. Saw NTL Frankenstein. Stuffed self full of excellent Thai food: had nummy garlic stir fry and a beautiful, GORGEOUS Thai custard with sticky rice...seriously, I wanted to take this thing home and show it my etchings; real, proper pleasure, as Dylan Moran says. And even though it had both eggs and milk in, I packed it in on top of the stir fry and DID NOT ASPLODE. Am duly impressed with my digestive apparatus today.
Had then to be rolled to Powells, where I found a number of Nifty Things...none of which I bought, since after the NTL tickets and cab fare I now have no more money for THE REST OF MY LIFE, but maybe next week I'll go trade some stuff in.
Then I went back to the theatre and saw Frankenstein again.
Had to borrow the cell phone of the theatre director afterwards as my cab was nowhere in sight and it was dark. That was kind of bad because it was embarrasing for me and expensive for him; different states, roaming charge; yadda yadda. For anyone listening, that man is going to Heaven; I say so. Got it? Anyway, so then I found the cab and the driver didn't actually attack me and leave me in a ditch and I got home in time to feed my cat.
Will write a post about Frankenstein that will probably be shorter than this one.
