Dear Sherlock fandom - wtf have you done to my subconscious??

So I was working at a summer camp that seemed to be largely located in great big old empty houses. And apparently all the kiddies and counsellors there were massively into Sherlock fandom.

I heard a group of people I knew coming down the stairs, kids and counsellors both. And an idea hatched. I was just coming out of one of the rooms behind the staircase, but I ducked my head back in and told one of the kids sotto voce (there were three girls/campers inside) to make scary monster growling noises. They were puzzled, but I assured them all would be made clear in a moment, so they did as I asked.

I closed the door just as the growling started. Then, when the group on the stairs were about mid-flight, I said, very loudly at the door, "oh relax, Anderson, don't be scared...it's only a baby dinosaur!" At which both the group on the stairs and the girls in the room burst into uproarious LOLs.

Yeah, I don't know either.

Q
In hindsight, it would have been funnier if I'd told another one of the campers to scream like a girlie (not a difficult stretch, I'd imagine) while the growling was going on...but to be fair, I was unconscious at the time. (Note to self: subconscious comedy writing needs work.)

fandom, sherlock, walking in the dreamtime, dreams, wtf subconscious??
