*does the dance of being right*

My suspicions about Mrs. Hunt totally confirmed!

*does the dance of being right and also being smug about it*

EDIT: Also, Phyllis was apparently an angel, not another dead copper. Personally, I cannot tell you how much I adore the idea of an angel who'd make that joke about Gene's mam and the guide dog. :) Yay, ( Read more... )

I APPROVE OF THIS INFORMATION. It's never contradicted in LoM canon, though, really? Wow.

Nope. We never actually see her in either show; people (mianly Gene) just talk about her when she's not there.

I always said I thought she didn't really exist...that she was like Maris Crane, only not actually real. :)

EDIT: Much squee-worthy news has been added to my original post - I am already saving my money. :D

I thought Chris or Ray had mentioned meeting her at some point, but my rewatch was a while ago now; I am happy to be wrong!

The novels, I don't know, I am usually a lot happier reading actual fanfiction.

Anyway, I do appreciate your having Twitter so that I don't have to. ;)

A while back Matthew Graham wrote a Life on Mars short story for the Daily Mail as a Christmas present for the fans, and I quite enjoyed that. So if he's willing to write a whole novel? I am SO there. Even maybe if Sam's not in it...though obviously, it would be INFINITELY BETTER if he were.

Lemme see if I can find the link...aha! Here we go. :)

And I suck at Twitter; but it is worth it for the occasional fandom gems. The people RP'ing the Ashes characters are absolutely brilliant and a total blast to tweet with...they've helped with my A2a grief/withdrawl more than it's probably socially prudent for me to say. :)

I certainly assumed at the time that they had, but thinking back it was never actually stated as such.

I think it was the episode where Ray kills the flasher (gone completely blank on names atm). Gene, Sam, Ray and Chris are all sitting in the Cortina outside a college and Sam says something like "And we're not leaving this to the Drugs Squad because...?"

Then Ray says "Because DI Robinson(?) made a pass at the Guv's wife last Bonfire Night)".

I can handwave that away easily enough as a story Ray had heard secondhand. Probably one that Gene himself made up at some point just because he didn't like Di Robinson. :)

Oh, maybe that's what I was thinking of. Poor Gene, needing to go to that level of fabrication...

Whoops! Just realized there's no link to Part 2 on that page...Daily Fail indeed. Here you go.

Hmmm, not bad despite the blatant Sam/Annie shippery...he could use a beta reader, though...

Heh! He could, at that. Gives hope to the struggling young writers out there, eh? :)

And I regard all Sam/Annie as simply a beardy front. Never saw any graffiti that said "Sam ♥ Annie" now, did we? No indeed. ;)

I thought Chris or Ray had mentioned meeting her at some point,
Wasn't that in S2 Ep7? When Chris and Ray are sitting outside Gene's house supposedly watching the place. Sam asks if Gene has left the house, and:

CHRIS
No, uh... his wife left above twelve. At least we think it's his wife.

RAY
It was his wife.

CHRIS
She's put weight on, then.

RAY
She carries it well though. Eh, there's nothing wrong with a bit of meat in the right places, do you know what I mean!

This from the LoM transcripts. It implies that Chris, if not Ray, has met her.

AHA. Well, it's a lovely bit of retcon, anyway...
