the Frontline special on the vaccination debate*
*tries not to get angry at the profoundly selfish, willfully ignorant people who refuse to vaccinate their kids*

"I mean, there hasn't been a case of polio in the United States since 1979. There hasn't been a case of smallpox in the United States since 1977. When can we finally say, 'the vaccines worked; let's take them off the vaccination list'?"

Uh, yeah...there probably hasn't been a case of those diseases for a while; and GUESS WHY THAT IS?? There's a pretty damn good hint in your own quote there, lady: THE VACCINES WORKED. And your argument - I use the term loosely here - might actually have a miniscule amount of merit if the United States existed in a fucking bubble.
Never mind, though; you go right ahead exposing babies and the elderly to life-threatening diseases...god forbid the potential death of one of your fellow human beings should infringe upon your god-given right to your own ignorance.
Q
"social responsibility"? Hell no, this is America; we don't take kindly to that kinda commie socialist talk
