OMG THIS SUCKS
YOU GUYS MY COMPUTER IS POSSESSED
Long story short: I've been trying to get all my important files off it for, well, longer than I'm comfortable admitting, in preparation for a change-over to a new laptop (yay!). But it must have gotten offended that I'm leaving it for another computer and is FREAKING the fuck OUT.
I've only just managed to get it back up and running on a VERY primitive start-up system (after roughly fifteen tries of no startup at all). Will probably leave it on all night for fear of it not starting up again in the morning.
On the plus side, this might speed along my swap-over process considerably. On the minus side, there's still a bunch of files on this old bucket of bolts that I'd hate to lose that would be gone forever if it suddenly gave up the ghost right at this point. :(
Anyway, if I suddenly vanish from the internet for a while, you'll know why. =8(
