hrm...with this episode, even more than the last one, i'm really getting the feeling that phil ford desperately wanted to write an episode of scooby doo when he was a kid, but decided that the sja would have to do. there were too many corny jokes that fell flat and seemed really out of place. makes me a little worried for waters of mars, tbh...if this is how he writes 'scary'? um. yeah.
nice to see that callum blue is as good as ever at the puppy dog eyes, even though it was seriously weird to see mason from dead like me in a semi-noble heroic role: get 'im, mason! not sure what was up with erasmus's lispy accent, but the guy who played him was proper creepy and looked like he was having an absolute blast playing him. and the actor who played toby was fantastic - brilliant mix of asperger's with just enough lively inflection and personality to be endearing.
and on a side note, poor tommy knight...it's abundantly clear he's not the actor that the other two are, at least not with this particular role; but leaving him out of an entire episode seems a little harsh.
