six-year-olds can't lie for crap

Well, they *can*, sorta, but not on that sort of scale, I think.

well, in that it's often their first instinctive response when they're in trouble? yes...but they can't maintain it. their story changes, new details spring up to cover the inconsistencies, and eventually it all just falls apart.

that cnn interview where falcon finally told his dad 'you said we did this for the show' when asked why he hid really struck me: here's an exhausted little boy who's very tired of doing something he knows is wrong (lying), and placing the blame solely at the feet of the person responsible (his dad). good on ya, falcon.

Also not understanding the consequences of letting the secret out -- I mean, even with the way his parents treated him (and it didn't get super-exploitative until he started barfing on the news) he probably would not want his parents to get in trouble.

I just can't believe they thought they would get away with a plan that involved a six-year-old being in on the secret!

I remember someone--Keith Olbermann--who pointed out that you can tell just how little these parents care about their kids by the fact tat despite it being late (or early), and them being tired, and Falcon was puking--they kept STICKING THEM IN FRONT OF THE DAMN CAMERAS. The kid's sitting there vomiting and the dad's just talking away... FUCK YOU, MR. HEENE.

Have you seen the family's rap video? That only further adds to the complete fail of this family. (Warning: 6 year old profanity, NSFW.)

you know the thing that sucks the most? that whole family is so dysfunctional that the others probably blame falcon for blowing their cover and putting mommy and daddy in jail. i highly suspect that's what the father thinks, at least...his unreliable child had to go and ruin his plans; never mind that he abused and exploited his own little boy for the sake of a cheap publicity stunt.
