merlin: lancelot

was a bit unimpressed with last week's fare - was it just me, or did they cut out the whole scene where merlin told arthur he was a wizard? i never saw it, at least, and it seems like the kind of scene that would be a bit significant, series-wise.

anyway, spot-on brilliant episode this week, in spite of a few minor glitches (hello, bbc? harry potter and warner brothers just called; they want their cgi hippogryff back). BIG hooray for arthur finally acting like a prince, with actual courtly duties and responsibilities, instead of a total prat for once...*checks writer's name*...will look for more by this jake michie fellow in the future. also? UST. completely. when lancelot comes back he and arthur are going to be at it like rabbits. moar, pls.

gwen and morgana weren't in it very much, but that was kind of a good thing as the writers don't really seem to be able to write them very convincingly. the whole 'so, gwen - arthur or lancelot?' thing was a major hoot, though. :D

one note: i hope they give uther more scope than just, 'NO, tradition must be upheld at all costs you young whippersnapper GRRR you damn kids get off my lawn!' i'd really like to see some scenes between him and arthur in future episodes that have a little subtletly to them, or at least some variation.

definitely ready to keep watching, though. liked this one very much.
