it would appear that
wil wheaton and i were both in powells at roughly the same time today. i was even in the gold room several times...i wonder if he was there a few shelves over looking at d&d/scifi books while i was looking at vampire/horror books?
i suppose it's kind of a good thing i didn't recognize him, because i'd have been way too shy to go over and say hello. but still...pretty cool that he was there.
EDIT: doubly cool re: what he had to say about the place, the truth of which anyone who's ever been there can earnestly attest to: 'it's easy for time to stand still while I wander through the stacks, especially in a place like Powells, which just feels magical.'
ps - i agree. while i was there, i snagged a good condition trade paperback copy of the vampire armand which somebody had inexplicably priced at $2.38 (normal price, around ten bucks). if that ain't magical, nuttin' is.
Q
found the only appropriate tag that i could for this entry, so i suppose that powells and wil wheaton do both in fact constitute their own individual 'fandom' in my head. *nods* good to know.
