good omens, p 38

1. opening crowley/aziraphale scene = best. scene. EVER. (i started reading this book ages ago and stopped around the baby-swap, but remember loving the opening scene. still do)

2. i'm just going to take it as read that we're meant to be imagining hastur and ligur as peter cook and dudley moore. (hey, i called it when gaiman used them in shoggoth's old peculiar; maybe i'm right here too. also it's more fun imagining them in those roles than mister croup and mister vandemar, so.)

3. loving the vast wordplay potential re: the irony of demon linguistics ('crowley blessed under his breath'). hope there will be lots more. (i know there is because i skimmed ahead, but still)

4. sister mary loquacious ROCKS. i haven't quite thought of someone really good to play her in my imagination yet, but her ittle hoofywoofies spiel is a thing of joy and loveliness.

5. it is a bit scary how perfectly john simm and david tennant fit the roles of crowley and aziraphale.

6. the reason why this book could only be written by englishmen is because of how utterly, adorably, politely-and-innocuously british all the demons/satanists are.

Q
best line so far: 'welcome to the world. you get used to it after a while.'

good omens, book slut, neil gaiman, looks like we got ourselves a reader, book lust
