Jensen is halfway through answering a question at their latest panel when he feels his cell vibrate against his leg telling him he has a new message. Ignoring it and finishing the question he smiles and lets Jared answer the next one.
Twice more his phone vibrates and he frowns a little wondering who could want to text him so much right in the middle of a panel.
Just as he’s managed to ignore it a third time Jared nudges him in the side with his elbow and whispers “Misha says to check you’re messages.”
Jensen raises an eyebrow and looks past Jared to Misha sitting on the other side of his co-star. Figures his boyfriend would be the one messaging in the middle of a panel, one that he’s a part of too. He’s just a little nuts that way, it’s one of the many reason Jensen couldn’t help but fall in love with him.
He frowns at Misha and pulls his phone out, leaning back in his chair so he can read the messages.
From Misha: Hey, text me back...
Is the first one followed by,
From Misha: Come on hurry up
Now Jensen is really confused, what the hell is Misha up to. Before replying to the first two he hits enter on the third and last. Gasping into the mike in front of him, blushing and muttering a sorry; the following text conversation that followed went something like this:
From Misha: We should get married...
From Jensen: What the fuck dude, you don’t ask someone to marry you in a text message...
From Misha: Who doesn’t?
From Jensen: You know, normal people... everyone
From Misha: Since when have I ever done anything normal?
From Jensen: Good point...
From Misha: So?
From Jensen: You’re serious?
From Misha: Yes :D
From Jensen: Married?
From Misha: Bride, Groom, white dress, sobbing mothers, the whole bit!! :D Say yes
From Jensen: Holy crap, you’re nuts you know that right?
From Misha: Yes and yet you still love me...
From Jensen: Yeah I know, I must be crazy too...
From Misha: Match made in heaven :P
From Jensen: Sap
Jensen was lost in his little text world with Misha when he felt Jared laugh and poke him in the side again. “Dude, you’re up” Jared nodded to the girl who had obviously just asked him a question.
“Ah sorry... I ah, well my partner just proposed to me via text message so yeah... distracted” he couldn’t stop the grin and nervous chuckle. He wasn’t sure what made him say it out loud to a room full of people. He really hadn’t meant to, but he was stupidly excited about the idea and saying it out loud seemed to make it more real.
He heard Misha snort beside Jared and sent him a glare, though it turned out to be a more ‘fondly amused’ glare than the ‘I will end you’ glare he had been going for.
“Sorry” Misha spoke up into his mike, a smirk on his face that made Jensen incredibly nervous. “It’s the damnest thing... real coincidence really, cause I just proposed to my partner via text message!” He grinned stupidly at Jensen who was now about to have a god damned heart attack. Fucking Misha, he would do something like just throw it out there to the world. And yet he was still grinning and couldn’t help but fall a little more in love with the guy. Go figure...
“Did you say yes?” a voice from the unusually quiet audience yelled.
“What? Oh, um, not yet...” he answered into the mike, blushing bright red.
“Well go on then” prompted Jared, thoroughly amused by the whole situation the dirty traitor.
“Ah... yeah ok” Jensen answered softly, glancing over at Misha and picking up his phone. He smirked as he typed and pressed send.
A few moments later Misha’s phone, which he had apparently turned off silent, attention seeker... beeped out across the room. Jensen couldn’t take his eyes off him as Misha read his answer.
From Jensen: Hell yes!
A smile spread across Misha’s face and it made Jensen chuckle.
Handing his phone to Jared so he could inform the waiting masses, Misha all but launched himself at Jensen leaning across Jared in the process and pulled Jensen into a passionate kiss. One which Jensen returned heatedly, hands wrapping around Misha’s wrists where they wound around his neck.
Pulling back Misha leaned his forehead against Jensen’s and smiled.
“So you said yes...” he pointed out with a grin.
“I did” Jensen agreed, “And you just outed us to the world” he pointed out, not even slightly upset about it.
“Yeah well, figured if we were gonna get married might as well be out and proud. Otherwise what’s the point? Can’t have a pretty trophy wife like you without being able to show you off.”
“Oh fuck you, I am so not the wife...” Jen grumbled, but he still couldn’t stop smiling and he pulled Misha back in for another kiss.
Mean while, the croud was going slightly insane, not that either of them noticed and Jared was looking a mix of amused and disturbed.
“Ah you two want me to move?” He asked with a smirk...
“God yes!” Misha exclaimed and all but sat in Jared’s lap because he other man didn’t move fast enough.
Jared moved and Misha sat down, and Jensen grinned stupidly out at the audience, hand gripped tightly in Misha’s.
“So apparently I’m getting married” he said into the mike and the croud burst into a screaming applause.
And that is the story of how Misha and Jensen outed them selves to an entire convention audience and got engaged through text messages. Gotta love technology... well at least Jensen sure as hell does, but not as much as he loves Misha.
