I assume that in that last question you mean "leave" instead of "lean"? ;)

(Also, I did not see the "ignore this" thing. LOL.)

No you're fine!! The poll is still all good and works - the ignore thing is because i had to post the damn thing again - it still links to a working poll though, so it's all good :)

I think the word "community" in the last two questions are tripping up respondents. The wording is awkward, making it slightly unclear if you're discussing LJ comms, the fandom community, or Livejournal itself. Also personally, I felt the occasional confusion as to what counted as participating in fandom; normally I'd say my participation has been erratic, because I infrequently post, but during those periods of apparently inactivity I was actively reading and commenting on other people's posts. So I wasn't sure how to count that.

Neat poll, though! I hope your research goes well. :)

Actually the wording is somewhat purposefully vague.. simply because I want people to interpret them in the way that makes the most sense to them. I've read so much research where the wording is so specific that the results become ridiculously skewed and don't mean what the academics are using them to prove. Granted, this runs the same risk, but I think it errs on the side of the participant, not the researcher.

It wasn't on purpose, it was one of those things that got missed at the time, mainly because (to me) fanart happens less than those other things. However, I'm certainly going to note the omission in the thesis itself, *and* that people mentioned they participate in those ways. So it won't be lost completely!

Thanks so much for voting and commenting :)

I have to say, I haven't written much fic or made many icons, it's not regular and I haven't done so in a bit. But I have done it now and then in the past, and shall do so again in the future so... So I clicked boxes for those also.

How did you pick the fandoms that you list? I don't think I have the zoom level to know, but, for example, I could have sworn that Smallville was larger then say, Gilmore Girls. And if you're looking for longer term community involvement, I'm kind of baffled that Due South and the Sentinel aren't listed. Or did you think that would skew the results because you only really seem to be asking about LJ?

I didn't see that Torchwood was already on the list, so it got listed in the box. Sorry.

That's okay about listing Torchwood in the box - in the original poll it wasn't on the list, so it will all be amalgamated in the end anyway.

The fandoms listed were really just the ones on LJ that I knew of from my time - so some big fandoms quite likely got missed - but in the end lots of people add them in the text box so it'll all work out in the end :)

Thanks for taking the poll!
