Hooray, I've been plagiarised! :D

So, I guess this is a sign that I've finally made it in the world of fanfic? :)

My story - http://qthebadwolf.livejournal.com/10805.html#cutid1
Their story - http://www.fanfiction.net/s/9284818/6/Th

Mighty similar. They even lifted verbatim lines and everything. (Though I would be untrue to myself if I didn’t admit a shallow satisfaction that their overall writing isn’t as good, despite the occasional word-for-word stealing.)

It’d be lovely if other folks could report this, too (and many million lovely thank-yous to the person who brought it to my attention in the first place).

Some examples of the stolen lines, for the curious:

In both stories, John has to care for a toddler version of Sherlock. In this particular scene, Sherlock is being naughty and the smoke alarm goes off and it’s finally too much for John’s patience.
My story: He lost his patience for a vital split-second, and when Sherlock screamed again, John leant down and screamed right back at him to see how he liked it.
Their story: John suddenly lost his temper in a vital split second. He screamed right back at Sherlock as loudly as he could, just to see how he liked it.
My story: Sherlock Holmes burst into tears. His tiny face crumpled into a wavering howl of distress. The dummy dropped from his mouth and he put his little hands over his eyes, as though he could make the scary monster go away if he simply couldn’t see him anymore.
Their story: Sherlock Holmes shrank back from John, his face crumpled in fright and distress and he burst into tears. John stared at Sherlock as he held his little hands over his eyes, as though he could make the scary monster go away if he simply couldn’t see anymore.
My story: Good God if he didn’t feel like the world’s biggest idiot right now, but when there’s a crying baby in the room a man’s got to do what a man’s got to do.
Their story: He felt like a bit of an idiot right now, but when there’s a crying Sherlock in the room, then a man’s gotta do what a man’s gotta do.

Ladies and gentlemen of the jury, I rest my case. And, um...hope that you follow the link and report the story.
