Or else I'd do a proper update with pics and not just a lame ass copy from an e-mail. Unfortunately, it is 4am here in Mad Land and I need to hit the sheets because I have to get up early tomorrow for still more training

you had a friend who went to GW Law?! I think I vaguely remember that haha. I like law school, but the stress and workload is terrible.
Hm cliffnotes okay I can do that :) Since it's for the PeaceCorps and all ;)
Your Q's: - John and I love DC, we fit in well here, like the area (both our neighborhood and DC in general) and hang out with one of my friends from GW law and her husband. they are from Tennessee and John is very chummy with the husband, Taylor (they hang out when Katie and I are studying). - John got a job and he enjoys it - he's in the process of getting his security clearance but it was sad he had to give up his Colombian citizenship.
Other Cliffnotes: - The best thing about law school is the people, and just learning in general. With 500 1L's I have a ton of friends and am enjoying probably the best and busiest social life I have ever and probably will ever have (when I have time for it). Worst thing is stress and workload. I constantly feel overwhelmed, like I never do enough. Most amusing? Law school is like high school for adults. - At school I am the 1L rep for our Hispanic Association and I really like the organization and the people. - I have been frustrated that my lack of time has caused me not to be able to go to a lot of the cool things in the city. - I have gone to some really amazing parties with amazing new friends and gotten totally wasted at a couple bars and a friends rooftop. - My Mom got married in Michigan and I was in the wedding, it was fun I went during our fall break. - I made a lot of posts about the election and how I volunteered on election day. - Law school is creating some bumps in my marriage, though John and I both expected them and realize they are simply b/c of law school (lack of time together, my inability to help with chores, etc.) I never feel like I'm quite adequate with anything in my life b/c I don't have enough time to devote to everything.
I feel like I just watched a movie about my life for the past 3 months hahaha.
WOO! Wow, that was like a movie... Kinda sad at points (OMG IS HE WORKING FOR THE US GOVT?! Why did he have to give up Colombian citizenship? That freaking SUCKS!). Congrats to your mom on her new marriage! Congrats to you for being able to party AND do law school hahaha. What kind of stuff will you do with the Hispanic Association? I really like DC... so diverse! And now with the Obamas coming, OMG I am jealous of you! Wasn't it just amazing?! Ahh, I really need to settle down. Eventually lol.
- john's working for a govt contractor - so basically yes - yeah my mom seems happy, though the trip was eh - party and law school work better at the beginning of the semester - hispanic association... networking events, resume review, 1L info session - I love DC too and yeah there was parties at the white house on tuesday night but I was too tired from voter protection! I already have two friends who have dibs on my couch for the inauguration.
I feel like we are having a gazillion convos at once haha
Hahaha That's because we are having a million convos at once! But I feel like I haven't missed a beat in your life. Well, maybe skipped a few but the overall rhythm is flowin'! I'll try to post an update today. My focus is respond, respond, respond then update, update, update! Thanks for taking the time to write back to me. You're up late! :-P
I'm in the capital of Antananarivo because I suffered a minor dog bite but still had to be flown to get rabies booster shots since they're not offered in my city. A free 5-day vacation is nice, especially when I get to use the internet for free!!! :)
I actually have free internet at my site but it is MUCH slower and because I'm so busy when I'm at my site, I usually access the net every 1.5 weeks and then when I am on there, I get so overwhelmed by all the messages, want to try to read news, etc. It's a harrowing experience! So, most times I am able to READ e-mails but not necessarily respond to them. It sucks, but I'm just glad we're serving in a country where I even get internet access at all! It's nice! :)
Don't struggle! Attack the contracts. They love you and soon, you too will love them hahaha. Man, my occasional thoughts of trying for law school again are always derailed by the tales of law school students. You are a brave one, mujer!!!
