Not everyone's a travel junkie but I must say that even I am astonished at the fact that before the age of 25 I will have lived in Africa, Asia, Europe and North America. That's right people, we're moving to Europe

OMG how fun! I love Germany. I'm sure you'll have plenty of time to explore the country when you're there but just to be sure - check out Rothenburg! I went there last May and really loved that town (among other wonderful places).
I'm about to love Germany too hahaha. I have previously only visited Ludwigshafen (near the ginormous BASF plant) in February but now I look forward to seeing everywhere, including Berlin and now the place you've mentioned!
Evan had studied in Konstanz... Have you been there? Apparently it's really nice. One thing I want to do when I'm on vacation is go to Portugal. I don't know, Germany is going to be amazing but I have to see that mystery country lol.
Rothenburg is one of Europe's most famous medieval cities. As a fan of middle ages, its a must see in my book. On my last trip to Germany, I spent about four days there just wondering around, taking pictures and soaking it up. I didn't get a chance to visit Konstanz or Berlin when I was there but its all on my list. Hell, I'm sure you could spend a month in Berlin and not see all the touristy stuff much less the whole city. Spain/Portugal is on my list too. The great thing about Europe is it's so easy to get around. I'm headed to the Gay Games in Koln in a few years and I plan on doing more exploring then too.
Well I'm actually hoping I will go to Koln for Christmas because I registered for the Spice Girls concert that they will be having there in December lol. I know, I'm so lame but they're a guilty pleasure!
How much do you know about eastern Germany? I'm hoping that "old attitudes" don't still persist. :-/
Well from what I've read, they harbor a lot of angst/anger against immigrants and people of color because of their treatment after the WW and how they didn't have many jobs available. Some blogs I've run across online have also been mentioning how it can happen but it's not so often.
Oh I have no idea about the general population's views on much of anything but I did run into a wonderful man and his wife at The Hofbrauhaus who harbored those views and was more than happy to share them...repeatedly! His wife was rather nice though if somewhat kelpto.
LoL Yeah someone else who has lived in the Netherlands just warned us today about the possibility of that kind of thing occurring since the NeoNazism is really making a recurrence in some parts of Europe and Russia. Oh well, I guess I'll have to watch out wherever I am. No matter though, we're moving to Germany! If we're there when you come and visit, feel free to come visit/stay with us! :)
Aw thank you for the invite. I'm hoping to get there next May and then again for the Gay Games in Koln. I can't wait to see the posts on your blog of you and Evan cattin' around Germany.
Seriously, feel free to take us up on it. I've been having a grand time in recent years meeting LJ friends IRL that turn out to be really cool! :) We should still be there in May as well so definitely think about it!
I will of course post words and pics about the fabulous time that we'll have in Germany. I'm sure I won't leave Evan's side though since no sprechen sie deutsch lol. I'm sure even that bad translation was wrong hahaha.
