I met Michelle Belanger last night. =D

>>Michelle's Website<<

So, she's officially the first celebrity I've ever met, I'm glad to say. It was her Vampires: The Real Underworld presentation, which was about where the lore originated, how movies and books made vampires popular, and FINALLY all about modern day vampire subculture. Where was she last year when I was researching/writing a vampire play? And why didn't she come up in any of my searches? I really enjoyed her explanation of the disagreement between sang and psy-vamps though, because it completely mirrored what I did with Vincent and Darien in my play. I need to send myself a copy of that play when I rewrite bits so no one can steal my beautiful characters.

Allen is a psychic vampire, by the way. Someone in the audience asked Michelle if she could sense other vampires ("Yeah, it's sort of like gaydar.") and then another person asked if she could sense anyone in the room. After saying she wouldn't out anyone in the audience, she told us that yes, there were a few. Afterwards, Allen and I went up to say hi to her and ask a few more questions and Allen asked if she thought he was one of the- "Yeah." She didn't even wait for the rest of the question. XD So he continued, 'one of the people who could be a vampire' or along those lines. And she said that, yes, he was one of the people she got strong feelings from. That made Allen feel a lot better about thinking that he was, but he's not sure how good it is.

I was going to ask her if she thought I was, just for fun, but I assumed she'd say no. Although when I shook her hand and said hello, she opened her mouth to say something and then didn't... I wonder. Then I asked her if "swan" was a universal term, and she told me it originated in New York where there is apparently a crazy, unique vampire subculture. That's putting it mildly. But yes... I am an energy worker. This I know. This I am fine with. I've been showing Allen some things to play with in that respect (which is why I'm surprised that last he told me he didn't know I could do any of that... like, what? No, I'm just teaching you, but I can't do it. *eye roll*) and now I'm sure he'll want to do more, which is cool.

I told mom all of this experience and at first she was all, "She's a vampire?! You didn't let her take energy did you? I'm not sure how to feel about that. I'm open about a lot of things, but not so much that." So I didn't want to tell her Allen might be one. I mean, hello. I want to be able to talk to my mother. So after I told her a bit more about it, I told her. And then she started with, "Well you need energy too, but you don't get it from people necessarily, and OH! you should have asked her about how you get dizzy all the time when there's a lot of energy and if it's because you need a better way to block it, because you're very susceptible to energy and I'm worried that-" Well I'm cutting her off right there, because she went on for some time.

Basically, I'm pretty excited that I got to meet Michelle. She's a really interesting person, from the little she actually shares with the public. Of course she's a lot cooler than that. And now I realize that Allen and I won't actually be dressing as something unlike ourselves for Halloween. He was going to be a vampire, and I was just going to dress fancy and Halloween-y and be his swan. Well... we'll still be "in costume" but, yeah. Allen doesn't have fangs in everyday life, though. Meh.
