Thoughts on the past
Well, it's been awhile since I posted an actual entry, isn't it? I'm not 100% sure how long, but I'm sure it's been awhile.
I can't believe how much my life has changed, though, since I first got this journal. What made me think of it was that I *finally* went through my yahoo e-mail account, and deleted everything that wasn't necessary, and switched everything else into other folders. I have one folder that is full of "Personal" e-mails, the earliest of which is from 2003. Thanks to this folder, though, I discovered two stories I thought had long since been lost. I also re-lived some of my memories, some good, some bad. It made me remember lost friendships...some lost through bad associations, some lost through circumstances. One of my friendships faded away, which was my fault, I will willingly admit. I kind of wish I could get it back, but doubt that's possible at this point. Another friendship was lost due to differences in personalities...differences that appear to have *not* changed, interestingly enough.
I can't believe where I am emotionally as opposed to where I was just two short years ago. I've changed. I think I'm finally starting to grow up. I'm trying to see the good things in life, and count my blessings, instead of cursing the bad things that happen to everyone. I'm not perfect about it, but I think I'm growing up.
It's kind of scary to think that I started high school in August of 1997. Come August, it will be 11 years since I started high school! Tess and I have been best friends one year longer than that! o_O It's hard to believe. Sometimes, it seems like high school happened only yesterday...and others, it seems like it happened a million years ago.
I also can't believe I'm almost three years out of college...well, since I graduated from one. I'm back in, trying to get my teaching license. God, I hope I can do it!
More changes: Paige moved to Washington with her fiancee. I think it is the absolute best thing for her. And she finally set a date for her wedding! ^_^ That's quite awesome!
Phoenix has been in Japan for the past year, along with another old high school friend of mine. They're teaching English there. She sent me a Christmas present, and I started getting messages from her on facebook. It's been awhile since I heard from her, though.
Catwoman is in France, I think, finishing up her Master's program. Another old friend from high school is also working on a Master's here in town.
It's kind of odd that I can know this stuff about these people. Even just twenty years ago, I would have lost track of everyone except for Piper, and that only by supreme effort.
I've been hanging out with Prue a lot, though not quite so much now, because of school. I miss being able to see Prue and Piper more often...why are all of my friends currently living in other towns? Prue is in Westminster; Piper's in Greeley; Paige is in Seattle; and Phoenix is in Japan. Oh, and another friend of mine I've started getting in touch with lives in Montrose. They all live really far away. Which sucks.
Anyway, I should probably go. I'm getting really tired and I have a big midterm tomorrow. Talk to you later!
