...is over. :(
Ok, well, it's not really that bad. I took last week off to hang out with my kids, and we had a great time. We went to the zoo, and a couple of science museums, saw Race to Witch Mountain and Bedtime Stories, all of which were a lot of fun. We slept until 10 every day (at least) and ate out too much and lazed around all week. I hardly touched my computer (which is rare for me) and watched entirely too much TV.
I also finished up New Moon and read all of Eclipse (the middle two sequels to Twilight). I'd bought New Moon for my daughter, so I read it because it was there and I was curious, but was just as irritated with it as I had been with the first one. Mostly because if you're going to make a tween romance novel where that little happens, it really *shouldn't* be 500 pages long! So then I'm just irritated with myself for having read the whole 500+ pages of mopey teenage angst and then two days after I'd finished it, I couldn't keep myself from picking up the next one at the grocery store. I'm sure I'll be buying Breaking Dawn next, as sad as it is, but I think I'm going to make myself finish the 3rd Eragon book first... Of course, it has it's own failings, but at least it's male teenage angst bleeding out the pages and not female stupidity being clung to by housewives everywhere as being "romantic" or some such crap.
Anyhow. I also had my first Dr's appointment last week, but I didn't actually see the doctor. They just took a medical history, gave me all the paperwork and set another appointment for me in four weeks.
So I'm back at work now. A little refreshed and a little ready to keep working a bit longer. Which is good, because a couple of weeks ago, I'd been ready to quit for good... not that we can even come close to affording it yet... But it's definitely where I'm working towards. Or at least greatly reduced work hours. We'll see how that goes. :)
