Why is there so much work?
God... I got like 4 1/2 hrs of sleep last night...
I tried to study for my chem midterm this weekend but that didn't work that well.. So yesterday evening I was working on my bio prelab.. and it shouldn't have taken that long.. The second part of the prelab was researching a suitable journal article using recommended (and supposedly pre-tested) keywords and on the BIOSIS database on the uni website... It took my 1.5 hrs to find an article that I didn't even entirely like. I had found one that would work pretty well.. but it wasn't available online or at my uni's libraries --- seriously? what's the point of having it in your database if it's not even available!?! I mean they can order it in from another uni, but that takes a while! Seriously!
So now I'm working on a 500-word essay on the question "Are prions alive?" which is actually being debated in the scientific community as well. We have to do writing assignments in labs and seminars for Bio and Chem now because apparently science students are somehow getting to 3rd/4th year and then can't write a thesis.... So.. it's in class tomorrow and we can't bring notes.. and it's 10% of our grade. But if we get <85% on tomorrow's assignment, we can take it home and rewrite it and then get a regrade (they'll avg the two marks).
And of course I have to finish my outline for my english essay that is due next week. The outline/rough draft is due tomorrow (joy!).
Then the standard weekly assignments: Prelab for chem (thurs), prelab for math (thurs), and assignment for math (fri)
Plus my chem midterm is on Friday...
At least it's a long weekend since it's Canadian thanksgiving on Monday. But I am working 2 shifts this weekend...
