This probably makes little to no sense, and I have probably bored most of you to tears, if you’ve even read this far.
Are you kidding me? This is the best primer I can get. =P This time next year I'll be in your shoes, only with social studies.
Just keep your chin up. These kindof issues are issues at any level... I had to do a community college teaching demonstration...and..ugh. Dont even get me started. =P
Our generation is probably the last hope any generation has of making future generations care about ANYTHING. (insert sara historical psycho rant) the media is breeding an uncaring society. The fact that you CARE about your students and are TRYING to make them interested in what they're learning...is in fact...greatness. Dont' let them decieve you by their teenage angst.
I'm glad I can somehow help you and offer you a meek little primer. Hopefully it'll go smoother for you next year. *lol* But I'll look forward to seeing what your classes will be like.
We should confer over these thoughts sometime. Share horror stories and the like...I'd like to hear about your college demonstration! Sounds amusing... ;)
*laughs* MEEK?! meek!? Suzzles...you calling yourself meek is like...me..calling myself...er...cute and innocent?...(mumbles something about how the cute should atleast still stand)But why make comparisons. You're awesome, you're passionate about what you do, and what you love. USE THAT. Remember that you're strong enough to have done all the things you've done in your life...and to persevere about the things you want (ie: pittsburg). So use that! You want these kids to learn...be Suzzles about it. You wont win them all...but you'll win most.
And we will definately need to share stories. Mayhaps whilst I'm home on breakage, or when I come home after spring quarter before you head out to pennsyltucky =P
Hell...maybe someday we can all write a book about teaching together ;) all us teacher types.
*lol* Oh, Sar...I suppose I could argue that the very things I've done are meek compared to what others have, but I'll let it drop. I'm glad that you're getting something out of my experiences and rants and what I have to say. I say we share stories *both* times. I'll be around, or I can make myself be around. And as for a book, hmm....I suppoose ya never know! ;)
