This weekend was awesome, you know why? We beat Iowa. Sure, the hockey team lost to Denver twice, and on Saturday we lost with 14 seconds left in overtime, but it doesn't matter because we beat Iowa. What's even more amazing is that we beat Iowa without our starting QB. Tyler Donovan was making his first start ever as a Badger against a team we had lost to for the last four years at Kinnick Stadium, one of the toughest places to play in the Big Ten. However, Donovan was amazing, even the anonymous smack-talking mystery poster would have to agree with that. He looked like he was a seasoned veteran and he made literally no mistakes, whereas Drew Tate, on Senior Day for Iowa, could not get it together. Basically, this may be one of the greatest years ever in Badger football. I mean, we lost our backfield and our receiving corps from last year and we had a brand new head coach. We weren't even picked to finish in the top half of the Big Ten. However, everything came together very nicely. Sure, we lost to Michigan, but we played respectably (I hope Emily would at least somewhat agree) against a significantly better and more experienced Michigan team. Even with that loss, that's been our only loss and unless something goes horribly wrong next weekend against Buffalo (2-8), we're a lock for the top 10 in the BCS, which if you think about it, means we HAVE to go to a BCS Bowl, if there are 5 bowl games (which means 10 teams go to the BCS). Even the anonymous smack-talking mystery poster would have to agree with us going to a BCS bowl if we beat Buffalo.
Then today, the Pack beat the most horrible excuse for a football team in the most horrible excuse for a stadium. It was great. I love it.
I love Wisconsin. If you disown Wisconsin your right to cheer for its teams are officially revoked.
