told to day at work (by boss, who I respect) that my problem is that I care.

not that i care too much, simply that i care. Was told that I could care about my boss, care about my co-workers but that caring about the clients was a problem. I basically replied that if that was the case i might as well be pushing papers in an office. How to responsive to individual client needs without say "caring" that a client is i dunno, an individual? I understand that it is important not to become invested in client's responses (becomes power struggle) but yikes on the not caring. If one doesn't care one should maybe work in the parloe system and not the mental health system. though that too is a reflection of where the mental health system is at i suppose...feeder for parole, prison and other bill paying self justifying institutions of containment. her idea is that one should respond ethically, but not care. that is creepy. detaches ethics maybe like being a corporation?

so semantic types, and legalists, and others with a word to offer. Should i care? how detachable are ethics from caring?

offer me some words please.
