Waiting On the World to Change

So um last early December of 06? I came across this man who was behind my dad, sister and I; lining up to purchase our grocheries. I move our stuff to let him put his products on the slide thing (what're they called?) he smiles and says thanks. Then my dad turns around and they look at each other for a split second before saying hello "It's been a long time" they say.

"What are you doing now?" my dad asks. "Doing cable and all that such... I live in that apartment now" he points to the dull-coloured apartment across of Price Chopper (the store we were in). My dad answers "Oh, that's very good..." "Yeah, I`m doing great now, earning good money and such" And before we knew it, it was our turn and then we had to go. "Well it is nice seeing you, take care" then my dad says goodbye and so does he.

In the car my dad fills us in and tells us that the man worked at his Tyco (the company he works for) but then got fired for unknown reasons. Dad also tells me that he married his highschool sweetheart but then cheated on her so she left him. Along with that, he also talks bullshit. Dad says that he always says that he's better than everyone at everything and such and even though he turned out to be what he is right now, he still bloats on and on.

Today, "Remember that guy from Price Chopper?"
"Yes"
"Yeah... well... he's dead

"He hung himself in his apartment and no one knew until three days after"
" ... who?"
"His daughter who visits once in awhile"

Hm.
