Batman!

This evening was the screening of Batman at the Bloor Cinema. I've been looking forward to it ever since the schedule was released at the end of July. I may not have been all that impressed by any of the more modern Batmans, but the Adam West version still blows me away with its awesomeness.

Unfortunately, nobody else could make it so I ended up showing up by myself at about 6:20 (it was a free screening and I had no idea how big the line would be (Bloor Cinema has some crazy lines)). Thanks to my earliness I ended up as fourth in line. Shortly after I got in line, the line got huge. By the time they started letting us in (about 6:35) there was a large group waiting to get in.

I've seen Batman many, many times over the years in a variety of formats (TV, VHS, DVD) by myself and with friends but seeing it in a theatre was an entirely new experience.

It's amazing how re-invigorated jokes are by placing them in a new (and enthusiastic) setting. It was a totally awesome time. And on Thursday I get a chance to do the same thing again at the Fox Theatre with MST3K: The Movie. Huzzah!
