Vacation, All I Ever Wanted!

Mar 15, 2011 17:34

Yay, in about 30 mins I'm off for vacation! *thud*

I was going to attend a friend's book release party, but ... *thud*

I feel pretty bad about it, but I also feel pretty *thud* and this is only the eye of the storm that is my bad scheduling mistakes. So I'm going to go home and rest while I can. And get oranges on my way home. I have a fruit habit now.

Not going on a diet, but cutting back on snacks for a while. So no chips, no *prepackaged* baked goods (homemade is fine), no Easter candy (ANGST), no to most crackers. Might also cut out the Triscuits in favor of wheat toast. I'll still have my week day dose of dark chocolate, at least for a while. Am worried about sugar and my energy levels again so I'm tinkering.

Sometimes I make a big list of things to do over break, and then don't do most of it and feel bad. This time I'm prioritizing a few things, and keeping track of other stuff I *could* do if I have an inkling. Because I'm already burnt out and really don't want to make it worse.

Things I will definitely do:
Sleep
Improv practices
Mail Etsy order
Allergy shot
More sleep
Wash the floors
Cooking
Laundry
SLEEEEEEEP!

Tonight I might make hummus with a weird tangerinelemonthingie my friend gave me. Mmmm homemade hummus win.

Things I might try to do on my mini break:
-Beadwork!
-NY Whole Bead Show
-Puppets
-Play with my dutch oven for cooking
-Play with my sewing machine
-Watch Farscape and Angel on Netflix online
-Watch the Netflix disc I've had for almost a year, send it back, change to online only account.
-Update the music on my mp3 player
-Clean up and reorganize my balcony before planting next month
-Clothing audit
-Make my own bath/beauty products
-Play with polymer clay, with the old toaster oven my friend gave me?
-Photograph *more* stock caches for Etsy (OMG HOW DID I MISPLACE SO MUCH STUFF)
-Costco trip
-Union Square farmer's market

To early to plant anything, but I'll see what they have at the farmer's market so far. But I want to try tomatoes again, MUCH EARLIER than last year, so I'll actually get some f'ing fruit. And new herbs if the old ones don't all grow back, Maybe a new lavender because the one I have is kinda rangey. I'd like to make my container garden more definitely part of my house-wards this year.

I was already planning to wash the floors before my toilet overflowed Monday morning (ick) because of some ritual cleansing techniques I read about. And the plan was always *actually* clean first, (holy?) water + herb rinse second.

What's a good way to clean bird poo off my balcony? They didn't nest, but they were hanging out there an awful lot this winter. Either due to the snow on the ground, or a nest on someone else's balcony. And now mine is all yucky :-P

So many projects/gizmos on the back burner right now, it makes me sad. I've had that sewing machine for longer than I've been doing improv, like the guitar I got for Xmas right before joining the high school drama club. But I have a bunch of scrap fabric to play with, and there is the allure of learning to make my own damn low-waisted black jeans.

I picked up some new tops over the weekend on gift certificates, but no more clothes shopping (with or without gcs) until April, by which time I will have had another clothing audit. But these tops do seem to work so far and I'll call that a win :-) Doing a clothing audit may also give me more fabric to play with on the sewing machine.

Still might continue the no-buy-stuff month through April. But with allowances for gift certificate treats.

Still not sure about NYWBS. I may leave my allergy shot scheduled for 10am Friday morning, and then go the show if I don't have a reaction. Decadent breakfast in between. And then home to sleep off the ferret-shock before improv practice AND show that night.
