Feeling a bit under the weather, but I'm 90% sure its allergies. It was worse yesterday during the mysterious heat wave. Dammit, I will not be sick for Wicked Faire this year. Grrrr!
I need to use some vacation days by April 1st before they went *poof!* because I am no longer burning through them from being out sick all the time. I looked at my calendar and sortof arbitrarily planned for March 16-18. Maybe I can finally see what the St. Patrick's Day Parade is like? No need to schedule hangover time in my case, tho. It would be too early to plant new stuff on my balcony, but maybe I could start moving stuff around and planning for April.
After that, found out that my NYU buddy
gyokutogirl will be visiting town that week! Yay!
And THEN I remembered that its the same week/end as the
Spring New York Whole Beads Show. Not so sure if I'm "Yay!" about that. I'm still not sure if they will have enough wholesale discounts to make it worth a $10 ticket (it used to be $5). I'd like to find more vintage beads and such. The wooden animal pendants are nice too, but I haven't figured out how to use all the ones I have left. I still have lots of unused stuff from the NYWBS's from years ago. Meh, I'll start making a list and price comparisons. Also, all $$ ventures pale against England 2012 right now.
But it does seem like Staycation isn't such a lame idea when u live in NYC. If nothing else, I can hole up in my chantry like I did during the blizzard. Actually we *have* had blizzards that late in March before. You remember stuff like that when its around your brother's b'day.
Might get my Project Wonderful account up and running again. I have never had this many items in my Etsy shop before, it would be a good idea to promote them more. First I'll figure out if I can budget it on a monthly basis. And set it up in such a way that I don't feel obligated to look at it every five minutes.
Additionally, I need to update my website. Which means remembering to email my webmaster. Not a major overhaul, just to add photos of new stuff I've made since the website first went up. And I need to look into CrisFisher.com. I keep doing that, and then spazzing and forgetting to do anything with the info, and then I lose the info before I remember to do something about it again. Would also need to factor that in under a monthly operations budget.
Oh... taxes. Haven't done those yet. Mainly I still have to do the bizness stuff. I did a sketch of them using my pay stub during winter break and it looks like I'm getting a bunch of $$ back. That too will go towards England 2012. Huzzah!
Still not sure how to promote my tarot skillz without being totally obnoxious and crazy sounding. I guess if you're looking for extended insight, look at the price list at the top of my LJ page and see if anything fits. (Oh darn, I need to update that too.) I suspect trying to set up 'tarot parties' would be as pointless as when I tried to get a 'jewelry party' together. Like a tupperware party, you throw it so people will buy stuff from you.
I'm crazy busy until March, and my Fridays are booked until early April, but if you are looking for a tarot reader for an upcoming event please drop me a line. I could pay for a booth (tho I'd prefer less than a vendor booth b/c I only need a tiny table), or pay a percentage of what I make during the event. Or you could pay/hire *me* to work your event (company party, birthday, etc). I'm pretty flexible so long as its in NYC. I may put in to read tarot at Wicked Faire 2012 if I can't stand being a regular attendee ;-)
I don't think I want to do a donation button for England 2012. Unless I start doing simple card readings on LJ like
haikujaguar and other nice people do from time to time.
O ya, over the weekend
haikujaguar hand a balance-card reading, and I asked "Dear Universe, what do you need from me these days?"
When the Survivor slides out of the deck as if down a cliff, reaching out
a hand, I wonder if it's you... and realize, no, no it's not. You're
asking what the universe needs from you these days, so I point you at
that poor soul skidding toward certain pain and brokenness.
"Go, lend a hand. And once they're up, tell them how to be a Survivor." I
smile and lift my brows. "But not too obviously. No one loves advise."
And grin.
Um... I guess that bodes well for the tarot readings... I'm weird about saving people tho. It may put my sneakiness to the test.
My horoscope is equally "...Hunh?"
Chiron has moved into your relationship sector, kicking off a 7 year cycle of healing your entire belief system around one on one connections. You’re about to undertake some firm decision-making about what matters and what doesn’t where your closest ties are concerned. You may think you’ve been doing that all along, but in truth you were coming from a particularly self-absorbed place, which was important at the time, because you were working on your core issues, and hopefully you’ve accessed those. You’re going to need the knowledge you gained about what you care for most deeply as you move into your future. The first item on your agenda is the realization of which ties still serve you and which no longer do. If you’ve learned anything at all, it’s how to serve your Self first.
Nope, I'm staying in my cave. Nyea nyeah, Chiron :-P! Tho maybe these one-on-one connections are just friends instead of romantic messes. That would be much nicer to work on.
I searched and Googled the hell out of it, but I can't find any free fundraising tracker/widgets that I actually like for my England 2012 project. TickerFactory seems to be ded. Meh.
Because of a stash I had from tarot and cash gifts, I'm already 10% there. Was thinking of spending that on a goth coat, but with the recent weight gain I'm really not in the mood to think about buying clothes.
That's why I'm stalling again on costume ideas for Wicked Faire. I might have to make or shop for new stuff and I really just don't want to deal. And I need that time to cut more business cards before I go. I may not have anything for the costume contests, but I will have a puppet. W00t!
I'm a little bored with being Little Red Riding Hood, but I still luv to wear my red velvet cape. I may paint dark circles around my eyes and say I'm Sorrow from The Orphan's Tales :-) Everyone will still think I'm LRRH, but that's fine.
My Holy Clothing dresses are still MIA. Googled for customer service complaints, but apparently I'm the only person on the whole internet who's ever had a problem with them. I ordered from them once or twice before, but years ago. I don't remember if they were super late with stuff.
