A/N- Ok once again, I’m sorry if I butcher the format. And professional writers please don’t kill me. Also my sincere apologies to Junebuggy01 for having the same title as you. I didn't know.

As the gang walk to the maternity ward, they see all the newborn babies. All of their faces lit up. Silvia stops with another huge smile points at the glass.
“There they are!” Silvia states.
Awws, goos, coos, and other funny sounds come out of everyone’s mouth.
Rita states, “They are so precious.”
She moves to Silvia’s side and gives her a hug.
“I’m proud of you guys.”
“You know Montoya would have been honored to know you gave your son his name.”
A tear tickles Rita’s face.
With a warm smile Silvia rubs Rita’s shoulder and replies “He was a good man and he meant the world to us.”
Rita’s smiles widen and she is even more touched at their declaration to her lost love.
Aitor makes a comment. “So the girl is a redhead like you.”
Silvia smiles and says, “That’s the only thing we have in common.”
“She has the spirit of Pepa for sure.”
They all laugh and look at Mar, who is the only baby that is wide awake with all smiles and laughing.
Paco states “That’s how Pepa was; ready to take on the world.”
And then they look at Iker, who is sound asleep. He looks so peaceful. The gang can’t believe how small everything in their life is compared to the sight of these two miracles.
Curtis with a single tear in his eyes states, “This is what we needed.”
“I was going to take my leather jacket, rock n roll cd’s and leaves San Antonio.”
They all chuckle at the seriousness of his joke. For awhile the precinct looked more like a cemetery. No one really talked about that fateful night. But it lingered like a big white elephant in the room. Every time they walked passed Montoya’s empty office or the look on Paco’s face every time he saw Pepa or Silvia. Blaming himself for taking a mission without permission just to be the hero of San Antonio. But today was what they needed.
While the group still fawn over the babies, Silvia tells everyone that she is going to check up on Pepa. The nurse will summon everyone when she’s ready for more visitors. She takes another look at her two precious babies and leaves.
Silvia opens the door to Pepa’s room ever so gently to not wake her just in case she is still sleeping. As she peeks her head, she sees a dazed but happy Pepa looking right at her.
“How are you?” Silvia states with a huge grin.
“I feel like someone just carved me up like a Thanksgiving turkey.” Pepa giggles then cringes in pain while holding her hand over the incision.
“Honey, don’t over work yourself.” Silvia replies as she comes closer to Pepa.
Silvia gave her a gentle kiss on top of her head and states “You gave me quite a scare.”
Pepa smiles and replies, “Well that’s payback for our wedding day.”
Silvia not amused, gives her a disgusted look.
“That’s not funny!”
Pepa looks at her with her hands up in the air indicating that she’s backing off.
“How are the little ones?”
“When can I hold them?”
“When can I get out of here?”
Silvia observes the questions, sighs, and tells her, “They’re wonderful and beautiful like their mother.”
“Wait for the doctor to check up on you and if all is well, you can hold them in a few minutes and we should all be leaving the hospital in a couple of days.”
Pepa belts out a loud sigh of relief.
Silvia sits besides Pepa on the side of the hospital bed. With one arm around her lady love tells her, “You did good.”
“They are so beautiful.”
“That Mar is going to be a handful.”
“Iker is going to be such a mama’s boy.”
They both smile at that fantasy of their little rascals. The door opens and its Pepa’s doctor.

Well Mrs. Castro, you gave us quite a scare but all blood works and test came out positive.”
“Because we had to do an emergency C-Section, it only proper protocol for you to stay in the hospital for observation for a couple of days.”
“After that and all is well, you can be on your way home with your beautiful children and wife.”
Pepa smiles at the notion of going home to her wife and children. Chills ran down her spine. She looked outside the window in a dazed never more content and complete in her life.
“Can we have visitors now?”
“There are a lot of people waiting to see the new mom.”
“I don’t see why not,” the doctor replies.
Pepa jolt s up out of her daze and ask, “Can I also see the babies?”
The doctor smiles and replies, “I’ll get the nurse to bring your son and daughter.”
In the maternity room, Paco, Don Lorenzo, and the gang still are making silly faces wait for when they can see Pepa. They see the nurse moving the twins to another room. Paco gently bangs on the window to get the nurse’s attention. He motions a sign as to where she’s taking the babies. She motions to the mother’s room. Then he motions can we go there as well. She looks at him, smiles, and nods. The guys are elated at the news that they can now see Pepa. As the gang prepares to go to her room, Rita remembers that she left her purse in the waiting room.
“Just go ahead, I’ll meet you there.”
She scurries to the waiting room. She looks, finds her purse, and sees the man still sitting still reading his newspaper. This time she has no intention of speaking to him. As she is about to leave, the man asks her a question.
“”Is everything ok with your friend?”
Rita replies, “Yes more than ok.”
“She just gave birth to a beautiful baby boy and girl.”
He smiles and replies, “So something positive did happened in the world today.”
“It’s not every day police officers have something to celebrate.”
The man gets up, folds his chronicle, puts it under his arm, and begins to whistle a familiar song while exiting the waiting room.
As Rita walks towards the elevator pondering what just conspired between her and the man, a huge surge of electricity ran through her whole body. Flashbacks of bits and pieces ran through Rita’s mind.
“How did he know we were officers?”
“The song he was whistling is so familiar.”
As the elevator door closes, she stops it with her hand and runs out of the elevator. She looks but doesn’t see him. She knows what song he was whistling, “Se me olvido orta vez.” A moment of clarity emerges and drops her bag. She with a fearful whisper she says “El Gordo!” End scene.

2nd A/N- Ok it’s a bit longer but detailed. Now I’m done, it’s out of my brain. Hope it made sense. Thanks for the lovely comments.
