In almost exactly 48 hours, I will be starting a new phase of my life here in China when arriving in Beijing.
Fuck you Guangdong.
If I can't be happy, get my photography off the ground, and really start learning Chinese, then I know it's me.
If I can, this could be more long term.
I shipped the majority of my life in 2 boxes via the train shipping system. About 350 RMB (>50 USD) for approx. 70 kilos (150 lbs), from one train station to another. I just hope the huge paper-cut artwork in the glass frame and my ceramic dinnerware survive the trip.
In a reverse of the usual treatment I get here, he actually asked me to open them up and took a look inside, then asked if I had any "bombs" in there, but didn't do that of the locals bringing in boxes. Felt nice to finally be descriminated against rather than for.
It cost the same amount to ship a fifth of that to my parent's place in the states.
The company called me up and said they will have someone at the airport, and had the apartment ready for me. No exact details on when or where I will start.
Looking good
change,
moving,
life
