So China, I'm sorry for all the bad names and disrespect I have given to you people over my year and a half staying here.
I've called you uncivilized animals with no upbringing, manners, or sophistication.
And I'm sorry for that.
At least to the northerners.
Southerners can suck my salty, slightly enlarged, left nut.
You guys are still one notch above baboons-you just throw shit on the ground rather than at each other in the trees.
I've been to Beijing a few years ago, and now visit it looking for jobs before heading back.
An it is a different China up here.
I don't know what it is, maybe the pursuit of nothing but money down there has gotten everyone skipping civility for the chance to consume. But the contrast is so huge.
Up here they follow traffic laws, respect each other's path, and...well...the dirtiest part of Beijing is better than the cleanest part of Guangzhou.
The women are prettier, have style and fashion sense, and some meat on them. They aren't motley with the only sense of fashion is maybe one piece of clothing that makes them stick out even more when they try to dress correctly.
I mean even the dvd's are higher quality. Sure they cost 8 rmb instead of 5 rmb, but for the extra 3, you get a better sleeve, correct packaging, with correct english, an interior case, interior sleeve, AND a spotless perfectly reproduced DVD without scratches.
It also could be that Beijing is where the flood of visitors come, so putting on a good face (especially before the Olympics) makes sense. But even when visiting the boonies, the contrast is not noticeable.
I don't know which part is the "real" China, probably a mix in between, but the gap is huge.
I can't wait to get the fuck out of crapton.
I also recommend if you are coming to Beijing, a nice hotel I found, 北京唐悦酒店, its clean, nice, right in the center of town, and only 200 RMB a night. They have heat/AC, flat-screen with cable, high speed internet, and everything else. Plus the look is right out of the 60's psychedelic scenes.
Here are some pics.
You can see the Eastern gates to the Forbidden City at the end of the street, so cool.
