From 4th to 10th (today), there has been no school !!!! As in go to school but not to study... ha ha ... so nice... :) These days, it has been Enrichment week. Each person choose up to 20 hours of activities, minimum 15 hours.

4th July:

1. Officer Cadet School (OCS) visit- SAFTI MI: we assembled in the parade square to await our bus to take us to our destination. Each class is supposed to be escorted by their form teacher... BUT !!! BUT!!! It seemed that my class' form teacher, Mr. Zack Lim Wee Liang, decided to abandon us and went to do somewhat seemed like fishing since we saw him carrying a fishing rod of some kind... not sure actually... BUT THE FACT IS HE ABANDONED US !!!!! ouch... sad to have such an irresponsible form teacher...;(  Anyway, two substitutes teachers came with us instead... there was also one officer cadet from the OCS assigned to each class. Our class' officer cadet is soooo cute !! (~>.<~)  His name is Jonathan, 19, formerly from Temasek Junior College (-*v*-). Why cute? Ok, firstly look cute of course. Secondly, his speech to us: he kept wanting to say something but there was nothing to say... LOL... erm erm erm... like very nervous also... LOL... so cute!! o(>.<)o only funny when you're there at the scene... At our arrival,  we went into the exhibition hall  to  take a look at some of the weapons/stuff they use: rifles, machine guns,  bazookas,  communication devices,  bombs (dummies) etc etc... they provided a small piece of cake and drinks too... so nice... :)Then, we went to their lounge. It was a place for resting and to have fun but they weren't not really always allowed in there, only occasionally. Oh before that, we sort of toured part of the campus on our way to the lounge. Man !! Their campus is better than our school and probably most of the other schools as well since our school is so old and uninteresting...they have swimming pools, tennis courts, volleyball courts, basketball courts, beautiful buildings (maybe not beautiful...but new), greenery everywhere too... such nice environment... but i bet training is tough too... so its like a make-up for them :) Alright,  back to the lounge. They showed us their life-in-the-campus video clip. Three students were asked to take up a challenge which is to go through their physical punishment: carrying rifles and doing star jumps, push up and holding it above their heads while knees half bent (squat). Tiring that sure must be, but the boys went through it and got packet military kind of food for prizes... one of them opened it and passed it around, curry mutton pasta i think if i did not remember wrongly... i thought it smelled AND looked like tuna chunks that we spread on the bread for breakfast...LOL. After all that, we went to a place which was full of trees and bushes. Some commanders were hiding in there and we tried to pick them out but mostly nevertheless failed to do so... they hid so well in there with all the black and green face paint, leaves on their helmets and of course the usual army uniform. One officer cadet explained that the black stripes painted on the face was to imitate branches, covering all the important features of our faces: eyes, mouth, nose. Green is of course to blend into the greenery around them. These are the components which helped them camouflage in the forests so well. They performed a scene: some hid in the bushes, came out, enemy fired, fired back, crawled here and there towards enemy, "shot enemy to death", checked enemy site all cleared. LOL, piang piang piang !!! Then we went to their obstacle course: ropes, monkey bars, log steps up and down, low walls to climb over shaky planks blah blah blah... they demonstrated and some guys tried them out... no girls did though... the end and goodbye !!!! so we went back to school... I was late for my next course then... reached school at about 1.40pm when it should have started at 1.00 pm... :(

2. Stop-motion animation: Art room 21. The teacher taught us how to make use of the camera and the tripod stand to take frames for our animation. My group used plasticine to make a gingerbread man. The story goes like this: One day, he was happily walking lalilalila... then he slipped on a banana peel. He does a roll on the floor and jumps up without falling flat on his face, does a Y shape and bows. BUT!! He bows too low and falls forward, did a roll and falls flat... LOL funny huh? we took about 40+ pictures, uploaded onto the Mac computer using Adobe Photoshop CS2 and made it into an animation using Macromedia Flash 8. It came out to be just fine, a total success, only 5.5 seconds LOL. We named it Gingerbread Man, and published it... :) This skill is quite useful in the future i'm sure... :)

** Note: Cleared 3 hours today... :)
