Brian Cox was amazing! My Dad thought he was great, too (admittedly, we've both studied physics and chemistry, so he totally played to our interests). He had an excellent balance of intellect and wit.
The whole discussion on Ewoks being shattered after being thrown into a Lake of Liquid Farts on Titan was perfection! I think it might have surpassed the discussion on Bees in series G! Ross Noble is amazing at these wild tangents and I love it!
The gas trick was utterly basic for anyone who knows even a smidgen about Chemistry, but their science discussions always tend to be like that. It makes me wonder if any of the Elves actually specialise in Physics or Chemistry because whilst their Biological questions can sometimes be quite obscure, their Chemistry and Physics questions tend to be very simple (me and my Dad almost always know the answer instantly and, well, the fact that they put a super bonus on 'which is the most common metal in the human body?' and the question on the combustion of sugar (the 'explosion in a custard factory') suggests that they think physics and chemistry are these strange subjects that no one understands).
I have yet to watch the XL version but I really enjoyed the regular episode!
