Never thought the 'E would arrive there. But I attended the house show last night.
Should have got my digital camera, but I left it at my dad's place. Dammit.
Well, the house show wasn't bad. I arrived at 6PM. Lots of kids with their parents. Before the show began, they were playing all the songs from WWE The Music Vol 8 on the stadium non-stop. Crowd sucked IMO, except for a few who tried starting chants, but most peruvians aren't like the ones you see in Youtube. They're not familiar with the chants and stuff.
Anyways, show began a few minutes after 8PM... Tony Chimel welcomes us to the show (I thought Lilian Garcia was gonna show up and be the ring announcer since she does it for Raw and she has some hispanic blood, but when I saw yesterday the Youtube videos from the Chile house show, I knew Chimel was coming... much better than the Justin Roberts bastard) and introduces Carlito, who gets a huge ovation. Carlito said in spanish he came despite to represent latinos despite getting drafted to SD! (SD got booed), which got him a bigger ovation. He started to get his heel heat by dissing the crowd calling men small cowards and women ugly. He said Puerto Rico was better, which got a Peru chant in response. Carlito talked about the lack of peruvian wrestlers and that he wanted to fight against one. The "Pitbull" chants rose (Pitbull's a MMA fighter from Peru)... and Jim Duggan appears to little ovation, but once his shouting trademark appeared (OH!), people popped. Actually, the crowd should have booed the shit out of Duggan for arriving with the USA flag.
Match #1: Jim Duggan defeated Carlito (1/4*) - So much for hyping Kennedy vs Carlito for the house show last month when Kennedy came to Peru for a press conference. Fucking boring match with dead crowd for several parts of the match. Could have been more entertaining if Carlito shoved the 2x4 through Duggan's ass. Probably Jim Duggan heard me shouting "Fuck You, Jim Duggan" twice since the crowd was very quiet. Duggan was on the offensive for a few minutes with Carlito outside the ring and getting back inside near the 10 count to draw heel heat. Then Carlito got on the offensive side. The match ends when Carlito brings his apple to the ring, the referee tries to stop him, Duggan clothslined Carlito and got the pinfall. I'm sure Carlito is getting punished for talking against HHH on the Chile press conference.
Match #2 - Santino Marella defeated Charlie Haas (*) - When Chimel introduced Haas, some people near me heard "Tony Hawk" (the skater) instead of Charlie Haas and felt confused. Lmao. Santino before the match made fun of the crowd in italian, got some heel heat, but not as loud as Carlito. Match felt quite lengthy, even a small "boring" chant ensued... match ended when Haas went for a splash in the corner, Santino evades and gets a roll-up pin for the win. Haas left the place earning the people's cheers.
Match #3 - Lance Cade defeated Paul London (* 1/2) - Match was much better than the other two. London tried to pump the crowd at times, even shaking his ass to get some people laughing. Match ended with Cade hitting London's head (exposed to the lower part of the corner) with his knee and later connecting his finishing move for the win.
JBL shows up. He said he didn't speak the stupid mexican spanish, which draw huge boos. Later, he had the ref saying in spanish that Bush rules the world, which draw even bigger boos. JBL later went on to sing "God Bless America", which was hilarious IMO, but nearly the entire crowd booed hard. To finish it off, he chanted "U-S-A! Champion!" a few times. Biggest heel heat of the night. He made me laugh my ass off, really... one of the coolest parts of the night.
Match #4 Jeff Hardy vs JBL (**) - Jeff Hardy got a big pop when he appeared. Match was okay. It ended when JBL failed his Clothsline From Hell and Hardy does the TOF-Swanton combo to end the match.
The crowd woke up when Chimel announces that the next match is for the WWE Championship.
Match #5 - WWE Championship Match: Triple H defeated John Cena (*** 1/2) - Good match. Crowd was the loudest here. Cena got a louder reaction than Jeff, cheers mixed with boos. Triple H got the biggest ovation of the night, surpassing Carlito. A few "Fuck You Cena" and "Cena sucks" chants there in the match against Cena, as well as getting booed during the match. HHH ate the steel steps. Most people where I was located were marks, a few of us wanted Triple H to hit Cena with his sledgehammer, but that didn't happen.
Cena called his 5-move sequence, Trips countered the 5KS, Cena goes for his sequence again. He went for the F-U, but HHH countered to a DDT. Later Paul got on the offensive and he went for the Pedigree, but Cena countered into the STFU. HHH escaped and nailed the Pedigree for a two count. Cena hits the FU for a two count. Later, Triple H gets the Crossface on Cena for a big pop, Cena lifted HHH for the F-U, HHH escaped and called the Pedigree and I thought it was gonna be similar to the ending at NOC 2008, but Cena dropped HHH to the floor and catapulted him to the turnbuckle. HHH evades the F-U and nailed the Pedigree to end the match. Nice.
Tony Chimel mentioning the intermission got booed. Piss break time.
Match #6 - WWE Women's Championship: Mickie James defeated Beth Phoenix (** 1/2) - Crowd was quiet except for some moves and the parts where Mickie James shaked her ass.
She also laughed at the pervs at ringside. Even the ref got booed a bit when he checked on Mickie, crowd thoguht of him as a perv. LOL. Match was good, despite Mickie botching a spot. Mickie retained with a Tornado DDT. By the way, Beth was the only heel that left the stadium with the crowd appaluding her.
Match #7 - World Tag Team Championship Match: DiBiase & Rhodes defeated Cryme Tyme (** 1/4) - Hardly any reaction for the champs until they started cheating. DiBiase Jr. isn't a bad wrestler. But the star of the match was JTG. CT haflway through the match were succesful at pumping the crowd. Match ended with Shad jobbing to DiBiase Jr in the same way that Holly jobbed to DiBiase Jr. at NOC 2008. CT got the crowd's respect.
Match #8 - Shawn Michaels defeated Chris Jericho (*** 1/2) - Quite a good match. It went 17 minutes long. PPV-quality match. Before the match began, Jericho showed up and got a nice reaction. He talked in spanish (half-assed spanish... Yo Soy Un Bueno Persono... Cobardes... Mentirousous...) and insulting the crowd as cowards and bad guys. He said Shawn Michaels wouldn't be on the stadium. HBK showed up to a big reaction and attacked Jericho right away. Jericho tried getting a steel chair, but the ref didn't allowed it. Jericho tore apart a fan's sign. Then the guys worked their spots. Near the ending, HBK was about to deliver SCM to Y2J, but Cade clothslined HBK. Ref ejected Cade, Jericho protested with the ref, people were laughing since they all knew the SCM was coming. Michaels connected and won. He wore the Peru flag to a big ovation and then shaked hands with some fans and left.
Overall, not a bad show. Quite boring at the beginning until JBL-Hardy. I didn't felt ripped off since I paid US$ 50 to see the show.
I'll drop some stuff here as well...
