Progress Marches On

So, here's the problem: there's nothing left to do in World of Warcraft.

Understand that when I say nothing, I do mean nothing. Zero. Zilch. My two mains are now completely and utterly without any new tasks to undertake. There are no meaningful goals left to work toward for either of them. At this point, they have to avenues of progression available to them: roleplaying and raiding. And the former, for various reasons, is on a low pulse at the moment.

That leaves raiding. Which I like, as a category. In specifics, I don't really have the slightest interest in Trial of the Grand Crusader, I'd not mind Ulduar but it's not run all that much now, and when you get right down to it I don't have the time. These things have to be planned out ahead, and I don't have the time needed to regularly plan a two-hour raid. I might be working, I might be writing, I might be doing any number of things.

Part of why I've been enjoying City of Heroes is that it decouples looking cool with accomplishing certain tasks. You have the costume parts, put them together, there you go. It has its drawbacks, sure, but there are benefits and awards to be found. The game feels... well... honestly, it feels more like something you can pick up and play with X amount of time. They've streamlined it enough that you're less constrained.

People ask why there are dedicated solo players in games that are based around social interaction. The reason is right there. I want things to do. And I'm not fond of hitting a point where I'm out of meaningful things to do with my characters.

Disconnected thoughts from a disconnected evening.

and chocolate milk, like that even counts, warcraft, design evil stupid retarded
