Several housewives of solid and dependable repute have reported massive defoliation in carefully planned frontages and backyard herb gardens. "I've never seen any infestation like it before," gasped Mrs. Fenderplump, "Every single leaf in the neighborhood is gone, in one night. Even the saucers full of beer I've put out as slug bait are empty and thrown several yards to the side. It's as if there were a marauding army of slugs all unified in the desire to ruin my tea party this Saturday!."
That's not all. What appears to be slug or snail mucus has been found coating mail boxes and sidewalks all around the city. No eyewitnesses have come forward to corroborate or explain the massive defoliation and mucussing of countless victims. If anyone has information regarding these acts of vandalism they are encouraged to contact the gendarmes immediately.
